A Good Question

How is your now?

LEON
My NOW Can Feel Upside Down & Backwards!

Kibitzing with a friend in recovery, they said this was a topic in a recent meeting. The irony is they were in a foul mood and pulled themselves kicking and screaming to a meeting, only to discover again the wisdom in AA’s best invitation: Bring the body and the mind will follow.

How my now is, is complicated. Therefore, I need some simple directions:

  1. Do the next thing – pray, give your troubles to God; He’s going to be up all night anyway.
  2. Practice an attitude of gratitude you even have the time and space to complain!
  3. Reach out and show an interest in someone else. Giving away what was so freely given to us through our Higher Power whom I call God is one way to make sure we keep it.
  4. Get over myself – Life isn’t about me – it is a gift, that is best used by my expiration date!

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me.” ~Erma Bombeck

So, again gentle reader: how is your now?

Love in Christ,

Sober and Grateful
