How is your now?

Kibitzing with a friend in recovery, they said this was a topic in a recent meeting. The irony is they were in a foul mood and pulled themselves kicking and screaming to a meeting, only to discover again the wisdom in AA’s best invitation: Bring the body and the mind will follow.
How my now is, is complicated. Therefore, I need some simple directions:
- Do the next thing – pray, give your troubles to God; He’s going to be up all night anyway.
- Practice an attitude of gratitude you even have the time and space to complain!
- Reach out and show an interest in someone else. Giving away what was so freely given to us through our Higher Power whom I call God is one way to make sure we keep it.
- Get over myself – Life isn’t about me – it is a gift, that is best used by my expiration date!
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me.” ~Erma Bombeck
So, again gentle reader: how is your now?
Love in Christ,
Sober and Grateful
A Good Question
